Homestay
with producers
Spending some
time in a family is an ideal way to discover the life of producers, to
witness their family life, their eating habits, as well as a great
opportunity to interact with them. There is little luxury, but a hearty
welcome is awaiting visitors. The families will get some instructions on how
to prepare for hosting international groups and, since respect is one of the
main issues of the program, their policies will be communicated to you

the alternative tourist contact
Guide
You will meet
local guides who are familiar with the area, the production, the people and
the fauna and flora of the district. Guided by them, you will discover
everything about the production of coffee and panela (sugar), visit the
plantations, get to know the producers and participate in the harvest. In
their helpful and reliable way they show visitors the treasures of nature,
give explanations about the history of the area and about the people living
there. These guides can put you in contact with organizations involved in
Montero such as the weaving women’s associations, NGOs and the local
government.
Projects:
reforestation and projects with children:
social projects are part of alternative tourism because it is meant to be a
responsible tourism, allowing the local people to benefit directly.
